University of Calabria (UC)
University of Calabria (http://www.unical.it) is situated in Southern Italy and was initiated in 1972. It is a medium size university with about 30,000 students.
Teaching staff amounts to about 800 units. There are six Faculties, more than eighty degree courses and advanced PhD courses.
Its academic and scientific achievements are remarkable and the university graduates can compete with those from the greatest Italian Universities.
The research group working on CADIC is the “Management and Organization Group” lead by Prof. Piero Migliarese at the Department of Business Administration. The group works on “Organizational Design” and on “Technology in Innovative Organizational Models”. It has already participated in various research projects in fields related to CADIC. Among the others: “Development of advanced models and tools to assimilate, manage and exploit new knowledge supporting the competitiveness of SMEs” financed by the Italian Ministry of Research (MIUR), and “Firm and Interfirm Organizational Models for Economic Development in weak Areas” financed by the Calabria Region
Role In CADIC
UC, together with UPC and LSE, contributes to CADIC Offline Support Services
It is involved in all the RTD WPs: CADIC framework, CADIC Services & Tools and CADIC System
It supports Cluster Facilitator and Cluster Relation Manager in testing CADIC Framework, IC-Benchmarking System, Web Platform and Offline Services (Demonstration)
It adapts CADIC Prototypes and the CADIC System to national requirements of SMEs and SME-AGs
Together with SME-AGs organizes training workshops for the Cluster Facilitation Team and the Cluster Relations Managers (Dissemination)
