CADIC Greek Transfer SME Cluster
Focus: Regional Development and Regeneration
CADIC transfer partner Bioenersis was founded in 2009 on Samos Island, Greece. Its business activities integrate:
- Organizing Events with local SMEs
- Training & Development
- Counselling
Cluster Development:
Bioenersis’ cluster formation process is based on the need of SMEs for the realisation of a series of events. These events were originally thought of and designed in order to sustain and promote a regional area and hence, its businesses, and to establish the notion of joint actions in the local market, which triggered the concept of bottom-up clustering.
Clustering Goals:
Today, the core Bioenersis cluster is a small team of mainly service providers, yet, the actual cluster expands to other sectors of commerce, such as media and printing, professionals in the areas of movie production and of construction, and NGOs specialised in natural environment protection and sustainability; it is in the immediate interests of Bioenersis cluster to expand to other Aegean regions, and thus, sustain and promote islander communities through the regeneration of SMEs that joint activities can instigate.

Core Cluster Activities:
In CADIC phase 2, apart from expanding its core cluster, Bioenersis also aims to promote it , formalise informal clustering, overcome coopetition anxiety, establish IC flow amongst participants and thus ensure good co-operation amongst them.
